A few weekends ago, Zornitza and I went down to Market & Octavia to watch the celebrations surrounding the tearing down of the Central Freeway. On three separate occasions, the citizens of San Francisco voted to make this happen and so it was fitting that there was a party to mark the day that the voters will was finally carried out. As with any civic event, the usual suspects got up and claimed credit for in making it happen. At least they did read out the names of the grassroots volunteers who actually worked hard on the various campaigns.
